Your Attorney's Background

In 1997, Kacey graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a Bachelor of Arts history degree. Teaching junior-high Spanish for a year, she returned to school and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 2001. While attending Law School, she earned many top papers and served as an assistant editor of the Law Review.

After graduating law school, she was a law clerk for the Honorable Morris Sheppard Arnold, United States Court of Appeal for the Eighth Circuit.

After her clerkship, she was an associate attorney with a premier corporate firm in Little Rock — Jack, Lyon and Jones. While she was there, she worked in the areas of securities and bonds, health care law, employment law (including co-authoring the Arkansas Employment Law Handbook), and general corporate and contract law.
Since 2004, she's been practicing law in Coeur d’Alene where she represents family law cases, including divorce, custody, guardianships, and adoption.

With her northern Idaho roots three generations deep, Kacey has a large extended family in the area. She is a graduate of Leadership Coeur d’Alene through the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce and she is a board member for Adopt Idaho, a program that works to place older children for adoption before they age out of the foster care system.
Kacey serves frequently as a guardian ad litem and represents children involved in the Court system. She also helps families seeking guardianships and adoptions of children. As an adoptive parent, she feels very passionate about adoption cases. She also volunteers to help victims of domestic violence get protection orders.

Kacey has a "child centered" approach to custody cases and enjoys the challenges of helping families their difficult times. She will take a personal interest in you and your family.

Kacey enjoys camping, hunting, and riding ATVs in her free time in our beautiful Pacific Northwest. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.
